Once Uddhav asked Krishn that many people preach many ways to God realization and claim that they are all described in scriptures. For example the following practices are heard - Speak Truth, Do Penance, Do Fire Sacrifice, Perform rituals, Go Fasting, Practice Yog, Undertake Pilgrimage, Do worship, Obey father and mother, Live in holy places, Acquire Knowledge and many more….This confuses a spiritual aspirant. He requested Krishn to tell him which way was the correct one.

Krishn replied,’My scriptures are divine and they have divine meaning but people who read scriptures are under the finite spell or guided by Maya and therefore they are unable to comprehend the real meaning, Those who had philanthropic orientation preached kindness, mercy, truth, altruism and so on. Those who wanted to enjoy the life and those who wish to drink wine and indulge in illegitimate enjoyment declared that scriptures support their views.

Thus everyone draws the meaning that suits him but none of these ways are capable of taking you to divine realm. The way to get my true knowledge is through love or devotion. Devotion only can pure heart and devotion only can take to the highest state of ecstasy.’

So, we get the final authentication from the supreme personality that love or devotion is the best approach to seek God.
