Bhagwat
describes the elixir of all elixirs – The divine dance of Raas.
The word divine is important because it imparts character of eternal
and infinite happiness to melodious music and rhythmic dancing. It
looks similar to dances performed in this world but material
pleasures lead to sufferings while divine pleasures will take you to
more divine pleasures. Divine bliss is always unending.
The
performance of this divine dance on this earth by Krishn and his
associate maids kindles hope in every material heart that one day the
soul could secure the same divine happiness of dancing with the
soul’s only true beloved Krishn.
In
this dance, every Gopi was so deeply immersed that each of them saw
that Krishna was dancing with only her and with no one else.
On that
night Krishna first played his divine flute to send invitation to all
Gopis to forest where he was present. Soon after listening the music
of Krishna's flute all Gopis hurried to makeup their faces, to wear
beautiful dresses and ornaments.
While doing so, being absorbed in
thoughts of Krishn, ornaments found wrong places . Earings in nose,
necklace in wrists, collyriium dot on forehead and the like.
