All the Gopis went to Krishn in the forest. But to their sheer surprise, Krishn gave them a cold welcome.

He said, "Why are you all here? Oh! I understand, to see this beautiful light of full moon and to see these beautiful blossoming flowers! It is really beautiful! It fills mind with such a joy! But it is not good to be here for long time. Because you came here all of a sudden and your family members may be in need of you. Your children may be hungry, your old mother-in-law and father-in-law may need your help and your husband will miss you a lot.

Hindu religion says one must perform the duties as described in the scriptures else hell is the outcome. Even if you do not love your family members you should not shirk away from duties. This will make your family members unhappy and to make others unhappy is a greatest sin.

I agree that your love for me has no bounds and because of which you are here. You must have heard the tune of my flute and then you must have thought that I called you to the forest. But you must know, I love playing flute and I can play it at any time. You should not derive any other meaning from it. I have made it clear that I have not invited you, so should drive out any such feeling from your mind. It is not good to be at one’s place without invitation.

Now that you have seen the beauty of this full moon night and that you are sure that there was no invitation in my flute, go back to your house and serve your family members."

No Gopi moved from the place.
