“Gopis knew Krishn to be just a beloved, a material person. They did not know that Krishn was God himself. It seems that they were full of faulty thinking and were lustfully attracted to Krishn by materialist attribute. How is it then they went beyond material attributes?”

"Parikshit, I have already told you that Shishupal too, who had animosity for Krishn , broke material bonds and achieved Krishn’s divine happiness. Then there is no surprise that Gopis, who loved Krishn knowing him to be only relation and who were dear to Krishn, achieved eternal bliss. Patrikshit, the truth is, Krishn is beyond all materialistic emotions. But then materialistic persons have only material emotions to work with.
Therefore, unthinkable God makes him thinkable through his pastimes so that souls can think of him and acquire the eternal bliss.
Soul must build bond with God. This bond could be through love, hatred, enmity, fear, friendship or well wishing.
The emotion which is directed to God, develops bond with God and hence it becomes one with God. It then makes all other aspects of mind divine and soul acquires the divine bliss.
Parikshit the pious person like you should not raise such doubt about Krishn. What is impossible for God who is worshiped by all. including greatest of ascetics and yogis? His wish or indication by eyebrow is sufficient for well being of this universe."
God has nothing to achieve but has everything to distribute and love being most impotant of it. This chapter of Raas must be seen as willingness of God to share his love ,which is no where available, with trifle souls like us. Therefore one must aspire to seek this love of Gopis not be deprived of eternal love bliss out of viscious thinking.
