Saint and God are different.
There are many statements which establish equality of God and Saint.
After knowing you (God) soul becomes you.
Soul becomes equal to God.
Saint and God are one and the same.
The reason is God has three important powers - infinite life, infinite knowledge and infinite happiness.
On submission to God, God bestows all three aspects on the saint. Now saint aslo enjoys infinite happiness, infinite knowledge and infinite life.
Thus soul is equal to God.
But, this equality is limited to theses three aspects.
Soul cannot become creator of the world.
Soul remains soul as it was when entrapped by maya. He was divine under the maya and he remains devine even after the Maya is gone. What changes is its mind, intellect, senses and body which all become divine.
Soul is different from its divine body. God on the other hand is all encompassing personality. There is no distinction between God and his body. There is nothing like soul and body when it comes to God. God is master while soul is servant. God governs his personal power known as selfform power. (swaroop Shakti). While saint is governed by that power.
Thus
