Soul cannot change destiny.
Soul gets outcome of its action.
Hindu categorically state that whatever is in destiny has to happen. It is decided by the actions of soul performed in the earlier lives. Therefore, the people including fake saints who claim to change destiny are the criminals because they are deceiving gullible masses. Scriptures say that 'The outcomes of actions has to be borne, no one can escape.'
On the other hand scriptures claim that your actions of this life are liable for its outcome. The problem then is if destiny cannot be changed then our actions would be decided by destiny. In that case where is the scope for fresh action? If a murder was committed, it was in the destiny of the murdered person. Why, then, the murderer is subjected to sufferings in subsequent lives and in hell?
To know the answer, we need to understand that there three types of deeds. They are accrued deeds, destiny deeds and chargeable deeds.
Accrued deeds are the actions of infinite past human lives of the soul. A small portion of accrued deeds whose outcomes are to borne in the present life are called destiny deeds. While the chargeable deeds are the actions which can be controlled by an individual.
Consider the case of a murder. The murdered person had life only up to the point of his murder. That was his destiny. Now this destiny would have happened in case. Even if the person had not been murdered.
But the murderer willfully wanted to end the other life. That is his crime. It wasn't necessary to commit the murder.
Consider that a person loses his wealth. It was his destiny. Now, how he thinks about it is a chargeable deed. Does he curse God? Does he accept it as God's verdict for the soul's benefit? Is he unhappy over loss or is he happy that his mind now would not be entangled the wealth and it could be now easily diverted to God?
How we react to destiny is in our hand and therefore our thinking is a chargeable deed. We must be positive on everything that happens to us, good or bad.
Hence
Soul cannot change destiny.
Soul gets outcome of its action.
