Hindu scriptures also have a mention about modern day philosophy of enjoyment which suggest that body is individual and there is no question of rebirth at all.
Till you live, live merrily,
Take loan and feast yourself,
The body will be reduced to ashes.
Where is the scope for re-birth?’

But this philosophy was preached for destruction. The story is, demons wanted to defeat demigods. So, demons’ master-Shukrachary,-decided to go to forest to propitiate God through austere worship so that he could seek the knowledge of turning dead into living again. He wanted to use this power during war with demigods to make alive dead demons.

Demigods received this information. Their master Brihaspati contrived a plot. He sent his daughter to break Shukrachary’s worship through allurement. She went to the forest as directed and assumed form of an exceptionally beautiful and charming lady. Shukkrachary got attracted to her and his sacrificial worship was destroyed.

Meanwhile Brihaspati assumed the form of Shukrachary and went to demons who could not make out the deception and gave him a grand welcome thinking him as their master. Brihaspati wanted demons not to have any spiritual powers and hence he preached demons the philosophy of materialistic pleasures that one should enjoy the life throughly and there is nothing like soul or God. Individual is just the body and on the destruction of the body nothing remains. Hence no one should get bothered by rebirth, after life and the like stupid things. He said ,
Till you live, live merrily,
Take loan and feast yourself,
The body will be reduced to ashes.
Where is the scope for re-birth?’
And also told them that a decoy Shukrachary would soon visit the demons. ON his visit he should be captured and put behind bars.

Demons were pleased with this philosophy and on return of Shukrachary he found that his clan was completely destroyed and he had suffer in jail.

Thus the modern day philosophy of life enjoyment is the philosophy of destruction.
