The condition to read Gita is faith in God. Gita
also advices on eating habits. ‘Eating, Drinking, Sleeping and
behaving should be well moderated.’
Everything should be done just enough. Neither
less nor more. Over eating and under eating are both prohibited.
Enough of water intake is essential. Eating material must contain
required amount of necessary elements like carbohydrates, vitamins,
proteins, minerals etc. It is not advisable to eat to the full
capacity of stomach. Some space should be left in belly so that the
churning and digestion of the food is effective. Food should be
simple. It should enhance life expectancy, improve health and make
you cheerful in the end. One should not select food by taste but by
its usefulness. Stale, rotten, bitter, spicy, chilli food should be
avoided. Eating or drinking too hot could damage the digestion system
and hence must be avoided.
Over sleeping will make you lazy while under
sleeping will make you restless. Usually sleep of six hours is
sufficient.
Jerky behavior must be avoided. A matured behavior
is expected. One should not react to the situation but a controlled
response is essential. Shouting, making scenes are out of question.
One must talk as less as possible. No comments should be passed on
others. Talk should be soft and sweet. Others should never be
insulted by any word. Disparaging, taunting, maligning, blaming
others must be stopped. Fault finding is dangerous. Spiritual
aspirant must treat everyone with respect but love only God.
