Devotion should be Only-God-Reliant
You must solely depend on God and don’t take any kind of support from anyone else. Your all issues are left to God. You always bind yourself by his advice. Since God is not going to advice you directly, you can take cue from a genuine saint or from his teachings.
People have habit going to all sorts of heavenly Gods for relief. Chanting various mantras, seeking blessings from all temples does not make any sense. God has infinite expanse in all his aspects. Similarly he has infinite forms. All forms have same power but we should select one and stick to it. For example Krishn. We should not entertain any meddling even if God comes to us in any other form.
Once in the divine dance of Rass was going on in which Gopis(maids), Radha and Krishn were performing. It was a divinely charged atmosphere in which souls (Gopis) were experiencing the ultimate happiness that one would get in the divine realm. Krishn was dancing to the tune of Gopis, flirting and extolling them. Gopis started thinking,’Look at me. I am so beautiful, attractive and seductive that even God himself is mesmerized. He is following my dance steps and trapped in my love.’ Krishn who knows everyone’s mind, disappeared. On losing Krishn, Gopis were in complete distress, as if their treasure of lifetime was lost. They were weeping and losing their senses. They prayed and entreated him again and again to be back with them. They were searching him everywhere in the forest of Vrindavan. Radha too joined Gopis later. Krishn then reappeared, not in his usual form but as Lord Vishnu with four hands with all opulence. Gopis who were in disheveled clothes, immediately tried to put it properly and asked,’Who are you and what are you doing here in all women dance-party?’ He said,’You were looking for me in distress, so I am here! I am God Vishnu’. None of the Gopis went to him. One of the Gopi said, ‘Let us test if this person is God’. She said,’If you are God as you claim, please return us our beloved Krishn who left us bereft. We all love him and cannot live without him.’ Krishn has to come in his sweet and beautiful form of a common man. Gopis rejoiced and Raas continued.
Story of Draupadi too illustrates this point. When she was being stripped she first thought her powerful husbands would rescue her, then she looked to stalwarts present in the court for help, after which she relied on her own strength, at last when she relied only on God, she got the protection.
