If a person kills a mosquito in someone’s
house and if the house owner files a law suit that the accused killed
a mosquito, court will laugh at it. If a buffalo is killed? Court
will direct to replacement or it might charge market price of buffalo
as a compensation. But if human is killed? Murderer could be hanged
to death.
Spiritual government judges the crime against any
person by the spiritual standing. There are broadly four levels. The
lowest being the people who loot others, make others suffer for self
gain. Person who are of the philosophy of enjoying life through
legitimate joy as allowed by scriptures are the next. Then come those
who work for betterment of others through material welfare and at the
top are spiritual persons who work only for the benefit of others
spiritually by suppressing their own infinite happiness.
Crime against spiritual person fetches highest
penalty. The guilty loses on both the fronts spiritual as well as
material. Penalty goes on reducing as one goes down the level. At the
lowest level there may not be any punishment at all.
First step to any outer
action is thinking. God notes thinking of mind. Any negative thinking
is a crime. In fact, any thinking that does not help the cause of
attaining infinite happiness is a misdeed. Hence thinking of mind
needs to be controlled. However, it is impossible to exercise control
over mind even for greatest of ascetics. When mind begins wrong
thinking, break it. Take mind to another area which it likes but do
not allow any negative thinking related to God and saint. Mind
usually forms link of thoughts. One thought leads to another thought
that supports the earlier one. In such situations, mind loses the
track of correct and incorrect, of good and evil, of useful and
harmful. Link can be broken by realizing that mind has gone on
self-destruction mode. If the danger is perceived, mind will stop and
soon after give it another positive thought to work on.
If there are sufferings
then soul must understand that they are the outcome of sins in the
past lives. God and saint can be of help to a soul just as a doctor
can be of help to a patient. The condition is patient should accept
doctor in good faith and the doctor should have complete knowledge of
the subject. In addition, patient should take the medicine directed
by the doctor. God and saint can be of help only if soul accepts God
and saint in good faith. Tulsidas says that the saint must be genuine
and soul must have confidence in him. If soul has no confidence or if
soul thinks negatively of saint, nothing can be achieved and if saint
is not genuine, soul will be doomed because fake saint will put soul
on the wrong track.
One line should be
inscribed on the mind that God can never think of any evil for
anyone. To get out of the sufferings, mind must stop doing misdeeds.
That will happen only if heart is pure and to purify heart constant
remembrance of God is must. As it is said in Gita,’I am easily
available to those who remember by constantly without any gap’.
